A gym enthusiast has found an unusual way to stay fit during the pandemic – by using her pet dog in her workouts.
Karen Smith, from Melbourne, Australia, has been using her four-year-old Labrador, Daisy, to help her stay in shape during the coronavirus lockdown.
The fitness fanatic has been using Daisy as a weight for her squats, lunges and other exercises. She has also been using her pet as a resistance band for her arms and legs.
“I’ve been using Daisy as a weight for my squats and lunges,” Smith said. “I’ve also been using her as a resistance band for my arms and legs. She loves it and it’s a great way to keep fit.”
Smith said she was inspired to use her pet in her workouts after seeing other people doing it on social media.
“I saw people using their dogs as weights and thought it was a great idea,” she said. “I thought it would be a fun way to stay fit and keep Daisy entertained at the same time.”
Smith said Daisy has been a great workout partner and loves being involved in her fitness routine.
“She loves it and it’s a great way to keep fit,” she said. “It’s also a great way to bond with her and keep her active.”
Smith said she has been able to stay fit and healthy during the pandemic thanks to her four-legged friend.
“I’m so glad I’ve been able to stay fit and healthy during the pandemic with Daisy’s help,” she said. “It’s been a great way to stay motivated and keep my spirits up.”
Smith’s unusual workout routine has been praised by many on social media, with many people saying they are inspired to try it themselves.
“This is such a great idea!” one person wrote. “I’m definitely going to try it with my dog.”
