USPS – the courier service has stopped delivering mail to everyone on the block since their mailman was bitten by a dog.
Paulette Williams contacted the 19 News Troubleshooter team when the incident happened.
“postmaster was saying come get your dog, come get your dog,” recalled one neighbor. Fortunately, a gentleman comes there in and grabbed it, and they had to strangle the dog to get him off the postal.

Williams resides on Cleveland’s East 114th Street. According to her, this is not the first time the dog has bitten someone.
” He was quite forceful,”Williams said. “He came straight at me.
USPS has ceased delivering mail to everyone on the block since the event. Williams and her neighbors have had to pick up their mail at a post office some 15 minutes away for about a month.
“It’s almost as though we’re being punished for what they did not do,” one neighbor observed.
Williams and others voiced dissatisfaction with the current arrangement, stating that many of them don’t have automobiles and finding a mode of transport is difficult.
“ Williams said Please help us our mail get back and save lives from this dog.
The 19 News Troubleshooter crew contacted the city and USPS.
Charges were filed on September 7th, according to the city, and the Dog was classed as a category 2 danger.

This means that the owners must follow specific guidelines for the following five years.
USPS released a statement claiming that they will not return to the neighborhood until they felt safe.
“Our goal of providing excellent customer service, as well as The safety of our delivery staff, are both critical to who we are as a corporation.” The Postal Service has ceased delivery in this location due to a dog attack, and the Dog is free to wander the neighborhood. Management has notified the owner, and delivery will continue as soon as the letter courier is safe.

Most individuals know what time their mail carrier arrives every day, and securing their Dog as the carrier approaches their house for delivery can reduce any Dog carrier encounters.”

When I questioned what the procedure was for designating the area safe again, and mentioned the neighbors’ worries about the commute time, USPS responded with this.
“As I have stated, this is a severe safety concern that has yet to be remedied.” When this occurs, mail will continue.
